A Streetcar Named Desire

Tennessee Williams (1947), Directed by Jon Halpin

The reviews for this performance of the classic play had been mixed so I attended with some trepidation. However I was nicely surprised and really enjoyed Queensland Theatre Company's production. The three main characters, Stanley, Blanche and Stella stand out for their potrayals. Unfortunately on the night I went there schoolchildren in the audience who insisted on laughing and talking throughout, including during "Stellaaaaaa"! For those actors we had come to see however, it was a wonderful performance.
