Stage Beauty
This is a very unusual but yet strangely enjoyable film. Essentially this is another 'Shakespeare in Love' - but without the wonderful dialogue, storyline or acting. Despite having the cream of the British acting profession in the cast, this film suffers from stilted scenes, convulted plotlines and Billy Crudup. However, all that criticism aside, it is nevertheless enjoyable and the final scene of Othello when we finally get to see the two main characters onstage is spellbinding. I recommend this film for a quiet night in but be prepared to hang on through so very slow moments in an otherwise great movie.
